Definition: - Atrial Fibrillation:

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a condition involving an irregular heart rhythm, known as an arrhythmia. It is the most common type of arrhythmia, affecting approximately 250,000 Canadians. While it is rare in people under 40, its prevalence increases with age. One of the main complications of atrial fibrillation is that it may result in a stroke. Individuals with atrial fibrillation have a 3 to 5 times greater risk for stroke than those without AF.

Pharmaceutical company “Boehringer-Ingleheim” are facilitating a pilot educational session on “ Atrial Fibrillation and Stroke prevention” at the Delta Stroke Recovery Branch on June 21st -

Boehringer-Ingelheim, will provide a speaker - Dr Ho who is connected with the B.C. Stroke Strategy, as well as lunch.

Lunch to follow the education session and will be at approximately 12.30 in our regular lunch area.

Bring your family and/or friends to join us for the education session and lunch.
