 We need your help
Easter Camp B.L.A.S.T. 2011
Stroke Survivors
"Building Life After Stroke Together"

We need your help

Please Donate  to support stroke survivors "Building Life After Stroke Together" who are often on fixed incomes. We rely on the generosity of others to make this weekend happen. It's therapy under the guise of fun! Food and lodging costs for the weekend is $250. per person. Other than necessary Squamish Camp staff, the weekend is run by devoted Volunteers who require basic training and also need to eat and sleep. Transportation is provided to accommodate the special needs and equipment of stroke survivors. Plus the fun begins for them as soon as they get on the bus. Coaches alone are 13% of our cost. $50. would help to send a happy camper to Squamish. Other costs incurred are insurance, a live dance band, use of the pool including lifeguards, and various items for crafts and funny money casino night. It would be an added bonus to provide T shirts to mark this memorable event. Gross per camper costs are close to $500. Our goal is to reduce that by at least 50%.  Please consider making a donation online or by mail.

Volunteer  your time. It can be a rewarding experience interacting with stroke survivors from all walks of life.  A brain attack can happen to anyone, anytime.  Easter Camp BLAST creates a safe comfortable environment for stroke survivors. You can help to create the social stepping stones back into the community. Here we discover "There is Life After Stroke"  and often leave with the support of life long friendships.
We need a few key volunteers committed to the entire weekend. We also need people who can offer a few hours or only one day. Please go to Volunteer sign up if you are interested.

We offer a variety of activities. The main events are a dance with a live band and the  funny money casino and auction nights. There is a heated pool, campfire for sing-a-longs, and a beautiful setting with accessible walks. The activities for the weekend will be governed by our Volunteer specialties, funds and goods donated. These items would include prizes for the auction, awards, craft supplies, games, volunteer appreciation, food and beverage snacks, cups and napkins, office supplies, etc.  If you can help provide any items please let us know on the Volunteer sign up  form  at   TurtleTalk.ca or contact us.
